John Kirkbride has been an active professional musician for over 40 years.
His speciality is the blues, but he has also toured with bands such as Whitesnake, Golden Earring, Wolfgang Ambros, The Tannahill Weavers and Omega.
He has opened for bands such as Jethro Tull, and appeared solo at the 1984 Montreux Jazz Festival.
In the blues world, he has toured with the likes of John Mayall, Alexis Korner, and Lightnin' Hopkins.

John uses various blues guitar styles to augment his own compositions, of which there are more than a thousand:
folk, blues, delta, boogie, slide or ragtime and delicate fingerpicking - they are all a part of his repertoire.

He is on the road these days mostly solo in his old camping bus,
or with his long time partner Ferdl Eichner on the blues harp, and a concert solo or as duo is a journey through the whole spectrum of the blues,
not to mention John`s penchant for humor wich finds expression in his reggae versions of "Conuntry Roads" or "A Day in the Life of Two Punks".

The blues goes on...
